Meet Chelsea

Sometimes I feel like being “busy” should be a dance. Every way I turn, I’m staring into a thousand pictures. I turn another way, and I’m taking more pictures. Do a little curtsy and check your e-mail. Finish the dance and my head is spinning! Although the busy season has definitely arrived in full swing, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m so thankful and appreciative that I have work in such an unsure economy, and even more, I’m grateful for all the new friendships and connections I’ve made over the last couple weeks!

While I did not have a wedding this past weekend, I somehow managed to drive all over the state of Maryland for various shoots. I love the time in the car by myself (living in the country means that EVERYWHERE is a long drive), but when I’m taking pictures of these fabulous people and chatting about their lives, I am just completely renewed and ready to start the next session! This weekend, I took pictures of an adorable 7 month old as part of my Year of Baby package. I can’t believe how fast Colton is growing!! But he’s the most adorable thing with the most precious, gummy smile. Friday I made my way to College Park, Maryland to take pictures of sweet Colette. Only 2 months old, she is already following in her Mama’s fashionable footsteps: she donned strands of pearls and Stuart Weitzman’s (shoes) and lounged in her most adorable nursery. After cuddling with Colette, I made my way to Annapolis to take engagement pictures for Matt & Kathryn! I’m taking their wedding pictures this fall in Bethesda, but they wanted some casual-romantic pictures to document their engagement. We had fun strolling around the old city’s alleys and even made our way to City Dock to look at the boats. Back down to Southern Maryland I went, for the next day I had a 7am shoot with a cute, little family! I met the Young Family at Greenwell State Park for some delicious morning light. We had some fun, climbed some trees, and then went on our little way. My weekend was not done, however! Up to Baltimore we went, the Barrick’s three, to catch an Oriole’s game, first one of the season for me! The next day held a french toast breakfast, a 3 hour nap with my baby, and then a ride into Baltimore City to meet with Amy and Brian for their engagement session at John’s Hopkins University. Two incredibly smart (and beautiful) people, I had so much fun walking around campus and hearing stories of how they met and their wedding in Philly next spring!

My weekend was done and it was 9:00pm by the time we got back to our house in Southern Maryland. My baby was sleeping, my husband was tired, but I thought it was a perfect time to….rearrange and organize my kitchen cabinets! My baby is ONE year old today, which also marks exactly ONE year that I’ve had this lovely business of mine FULL-TIME. Before having sweet Camden, I used to work a desk job for a government contractor. I kissed it good-bye with a happy smile, to work with you all, who make it worth while!

Have a great rest of the week, everyone!
