It was 2006, and it was the best summer of my life. I had the amazing opportunity to work with the Baltimore Orioles as a Baserunner…or “Communications Intern” as it was. We assisted the Oriole bird, kept score alongside the official score keeper, flipped switches in the control room, assisted with game day festivities, and attended 83 hot, summer baseball games. It was amazing. There was a crew of 17 of us and we became so close that summer! One of them became such a sweet friend to me, and although several years passed since we saw each other again, it was like no time at all had passed…except for the fact that we both finished college, life went on, and now she was getting married!

Mattie and Tom are GOOD people. You know the kind. They’re sweet, honest and genuine, and everyone who meets them absolutely adores them. I knew this about Mattie already, but it was extra encouraging to see that she had also found someone who possessed the same qualities. I was totally thrilled when she asked me to photograph her wedding this March! Both Mattie and Tom work for the Baltimore Ravens, so they incorporated that aspect into their wedding details in the most creative ways! Their day was amazing, and full of love and heart-pulling emotions! It’s always such an honor for me to be able to photograph friends, and catch a glimpse of all the people who love and care about them the most.
