She was as calm as the river that afternoon. Although there was hustle and bustle all around here, she kept breathing…and smiling. The day had finally arrived: the day she got to marry her best friend.  He was steady and serene that day, too. Surrounded by his best buddies and family, he waited patiently for her to walk down the aisle. Once they said their “I Do’s,” it was out of the church they ran. If I wasn’t in there way taking pictures, they would have sprinted out the back! Mindy and Bubba were married that beautiful fall day right next to the river where they both belong.

The day was seriously one of the most beautiful days this year. The temperature was perfect and the sun was shining. Mindy – a fabulous event planner – had every detail perfected. Nothing was overlooked. Their guests enjoyed cocktails and dancing on top of a hill overlooking the Potomac River. It could not have been more perfect! Oh wait, except that Mindy & Bubba were headed to Hawaii the next morning. THAT made it perfect, I’m sure.

Congratulations to you both! I wish you all the happiness in the world to some of the kindest and most thoughtful people I know.

I love this idea. Mindy had a table set up with their framed engagement picture, along with wedding photos from their parents and grandparents. Around the railroad ties were little quotes about love, life and happiness. It was fun for guests to check out!

Is this not an awesome view?! The sunset was pretty incredible, too.
