She twirled around his arm in the middle of the field…and he saw no one but her. The best kinds of pictures are often the ones where no one is paying attention to the camera. Where true laughter is caught on film, and that fleeting moment is captured forever. I think every photographer aims to get “the shot.” The one that counts. For me, I caught a bunch when I met up with Kalyn and Patrick last weekend.

Kalyn and I go way back…we were childhood friends, but haven’t seen each other since I switched schools in high school. She was always bubbly and happy, which is why I think we got along so well! Her life always seemed very full of good things which gave her a huge heart for others. When we met up last weekend, it was nice to see that not much has changed… except now she has Patrick in her life. The two are incredibly photogenic – I could have photographed them all day! Most importantly, they are incredibly in love. You don’t have to spend much time with them to figure that out!

Kalyn & Patrick, thanks for making the trek up from NC! Spending last weekend with you guys made me even more excited for your wedding in July!

When I had Kalyn and Patrick sit here, all the chickens came out from the roost and huddled to where they could see us! It was the funniest thing!! They were ALL to the one side and when we were finished there, they all spread out again and went back inside.
